Fabric is typically 50–70% of a garment’s cost and the single most common cause of delay. It is too important to leave entirely to the factory.
When a buyer accepts an all-in factory price, the fabric cost is invisible. So is the fabric lead time, and so is the point at which it starts slipping.
We maintain direct relationships with mills, dye houses, laundries and trim suppliers so that fabric can be priced, booked and chased by us rather than reported to us second hand.
This gives three things: a visible fabric price that can be challenged, an in-house date we can track independently, and the ability to move a booking if a mill starts to underperform.

Single jersey, pique, interlock, rib, French terry and fleece across cotton, blends and viscose.
Poplin, oxford, twill, dobby, canvas, corduroy, ripstop and linen blends.
Rigid and stretch denim from 6 oz to 14.5 oz, including sustainable and recycled constructions.
Stretch jersey, bonded and laminated fabrics, moisture-management knits and technical shells.
Organic, recycled and regenerated fibre constructions with certification and chain of custody.
Labels, threads, zips, buttons, rivets, interlinings, elastics, drawcords and packing trims.
Fabric options sourced against construction, weight, composition and price, with lab dips, knit-downs and hangers submitted for approval.
Shrinkage, colourfastness, pilling, strength and restricted-substance testing against the buyer’s standard before bulk booking.
Bulk fabric booked with confirmed delivery dates and allocated against specific order quantities, colours and sizes.
Knitting, dyeing and finishing progress chased directly at the mill, with early warning if a dye lot fails or a date slips.
Fabric inspected on arrival at the factory for shade, width, GSM and defects before it is allowed into cutting.
If nobody is chasing the mill, nobody is protecting the ship date.CrestTex Materials Team
