Recycled content matters. Durability matters more. A garment that survives forty washes beats one that survives ten, whatever it is made of.
Most garments are discarded because of pilling, seam failure, colour loss or shape loss — all of which are decided by fabric selection and construction, and all of which are testable before bulk.
We build durability requirements into development: pilling resistance, seam strength, colourfastness to washing and rubbing, dimensional stability after repeated laundering, and elastane recovery for stretch products.
Where a cost saving would compromise these, we flag it. Saving twelve cents on a fabric that fails at wash fifteen is not a saving.

Pilling, abrasion, seam strength and colourfastness tested to a standard that reflects real garment life.
Verified recycled fibre content with transaction certification supporting the claim on the label.
Fabrics and finishes that wash well at 30°C and do not require tumble drying or ironing.
Where possible, designing garments in a single fibre family so they can actually be recycled at end of life.
Pattern and marker engineering that reduces fabric consumption without changing the garment.
Recycled and reduced packaging, polybag alternatives and optimised carton specifications.
Blends make recycling difficult. Where performance allows, we develop in mono-fibre or recyclable-compatible blends rather than complex mixes.
Trims that can be removed or that match the base fibre — avoiding metal and mixed-polymer components where the design permits.
Construction and trim choices that allow a garment to be repaired rather than replaced, with spare buttons and reinforced stress points.
Fibre origin, mill and factory recorded at order level so the product can be traced and substantiated later.
Sustainability that the customer never sees still counts. Sustainability the customer experiences as a garment that lasts is what changes behaviour.CrestTex Product Team
