Development is where cost, quality and delivery are really decided. Everything after it is execution.
Some buyers arrive with a complete tech pack, graded specs and approved trims. Others arrive with a photograph, a target price and a delivery window. Both are workable starting points.
Where a full specification exists, we interpret it against real manufacturing capability and flag anything that will cause a cost or quality problem at bulk. Where it does not, we build the specification with you.
The output of development is the same either way: an approved sample, a confirmed fabric and trim package, a firm cost and a nominated supplier who has proven they can make it.

We review the design, target price, quantity and delivery window together and give an early view on what is achievable — before time is spent on sampling.
Fabric options are sourced against construction, weight, composition, handfeel and price. Lab dips, knit-downs and trim submissions follow.
First physical interpretation of the design. Used to resolve construction, proportion and styling questions before fit work begins.
Fit sets in the buyer’s base size with measurement reports, revised against written comments until the block is signed off.
Final consumption, CM and trims are costed against the approved sample and matched to the supplier best suited to the construction and volume.
The pre-production sample made in bulk fabric, bulk trims and the actual production factory — the reference against which bulk is judged.
We know which fabric constructions hold their shape, shrink predictably and can actually be sourced at your price point.
Small construction changes often deliver large cost savings with no visible difference to the customer. We find them.
The right factory for a structured outerwear piece is not the right factory for a fine-gauge sweater. We place work accordingly.
Development calendars built around actual lab dip, knit-down and fabric lead times, not optimistic assumptions.
The cheapest change you will ever make is the one you make before the bulk fabric is booked.CrestTex Development Team
