Cardigans, Front Edge First

Button-through, zip-through, open-front and belted cardigans, where the front edge and the button band decide whether the garment hangs straight.

Product Detail

A Front Edge That Hangs Straight

Cardigans fail at the front edge. A button band knitted at the wrong tension stretches or ripples, buttonholes drift out of line, and a zip set into a knitted edge puckers the moment the garment is worn.

We specify the band construction and tension with the body, approve zip and button application on a made-up garment, and check the hang of the open front after steaming - which is where the problem shows up and where it can still be fixed.

  • Button-through, zip-through, open-front and belted bodies
  • Knitted, woven-tape and self-fabric front bands
  • Gauges from chunky through to fine
  • Front edge and buttonhole alignment checked after steaming

Quality Control

What We Control

Early Yarn Booking

Yarn dyeing and delivery is the longest lead item. It is booked ahead of the order, not after.

Stitch-Count Sizing

Measurements controlled by stitch and row count per size, giving consistency a cut pattern cannot.

Anti-Pilling & Handfeel

Pilling performance and softness tested on bulk yarn, because handfeel is what sells this category.

Panel Shade Matching

Body, sleeve and trim panels matched from the same dye lot to avoid visible shade variation on one garment.
